1 Bottle of each:
Vilacetinho Vinho Verde (Portugal) £8.95: Good Vinho Verde is becoming more popular, so we're delighted to tick all the right boxes with this direct import. Loads of lemon and lime sherbert, racy acidity and a hint of fresh spritz. Refreshing and very gluggable with such low alcohol!
Sibiliana Organic Grillo (Italy) £9.25: If you've never had Sicilian white before this is a great place to start. Lovely fruity aromas give way to a palate of citrus, ripe pear and stone fruits. A little minerality and a touch of tropical fruit show on the finish.
Cantine Povero Roero Arneis DOCG (Italy) £14.50: A real find ... the most traditional and representative white wine of Piedmont region, of referred to as Barolo Bianco. Full bodied with layers of pear, grean apple, stone-fruits and a touch of walnut at the end. Dry and fresh with a cleansing finish.
The Butcher of Buenos Aires Malbec (Argentina) £8.95: Terrific value Malbec for every occasion. Blackcurrant and black cherry are abundant on the nose and palate, the tannins are soft and silky. Light enough for sunshine and BBQs, and juicy enough for anything off the butchers block.
Ormanni Chianti DOCG (Italy) £9.95: Lighter bodied without being thin, which so many poor Chianti's can be. Loads of sour cherries and a touch of blueberries. Classic lip-smacking Chianti that lingers in the mouth. Beautifully elegant.
Philippe Plantevin Le Perussier Cotes du Rhone (France) £14.50: If the flattering nose suggests aromas of red fruits typical of young Rhone wines, the attack on the palate is supple and full. A brilliant Grenache led organic CdR from a small, independent producer.
