The Poet of Santiago Sauvignon Blanc (Chile) £8.95: Zesty citrus fruits and flowers together with pleasantly subtle touches of fresh grass and grapefruit. The palate is fresh and crisp with gooseberry, lime and a long, refreshing finish.
Duffour IGP Cotes de Gascogne(France) £11.00: An under-rated blend from an under-rated area, but this is a lovely, versatile drink. Tropical fruits and citrus, all held together with a cleansing, refreshing finish. And the low ABV makes it a versatile wine for all occassions.
Val delle Rosa Litorale Vermentino (Italy) £14.00: Fantastic Vermentino from the Super Tuscan area of Maremma. Intense aromas and flavours of summer fruits, fresh apples and grapefruit. A generous and intense wine with great freshness and length.
Wildcard Shiraz / Cabernet (Australia) £9.50: Great example of the approachable wines coming from South Australia, this Shiraz / Cab blend is full of delicious red fruits and classic peppery spices whilst remaining soft and supple.
Rothschild Pays D'Oc Merlot (France) £9.95: A rich fruity nose with classic merlot characteristics of plum and cherry. The palate has an abundance of soft, juicy fruit; clean and fresh, with a good weight of fruit..
Val delle Rosa Morellino di Scansano (Italy) £15.00: An excellent expression of Sangiovese (known locally as the Morellino grape) from the warmer Super-Tuscan region of Italy. Riper, richer, darker and plusher than the traditional Chiantis and Montalcinos, this is precise, direct and very enjoyable.
