This is a cracking little claret, and one that punches well above its weight. The cassis and black fruits are practically jumping out of the glass but there is impressive structure holding it all firmly in check.
Château Montlau is situated on the hilltop overlooking Saint-Emilion and offers one of the best panoramic views in the area. There are 25ha of vines, two thirds of which are Merlot and the rest Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon. There are also 3ha of white planted with Sauvignon, Muscadelle and Semillon. The flagship wine is the Château Montlau but we offer their second wine, Château Fontblanche which provides excellent value for money, particularly from the brilliant 2016 vintage.
