Marsannay is the northernmost commune of the Côte d’Or, three miles north of Gevrey Chambertin. Maison Louis Jadot’s Marsannay is rich, nutty and delicious with good concentration and long finish – a great value wine from the former Domaine Clair Daü estate.
The grapes are whole-bunch pressed directly into French oak barrels for fermentation and maturation totalling 14 months. Full-bodied and round for a white Burgundy, offering an abundance of fruit. The firm and citrussy acidity is tempered by the smooth oak influence and density of the fruit backbone. Pair with a succulent roast chicken and caramelised vegetables.
