1 Bottle of each:
Tunante de Azabache Rioja Blanco (Spain) £9.50: Smooth on the palate and dry in style, with fresh and fruity flavours of lemon, green apple and white peach. Refreshing and very drinkable, with or without food.
Fattori Soave Classico Runcaris(Italy) £13.50: A super Soave Classico from close to Lake Garda. Fresh with good citrus fruit flavours with a touch of papaya and fine herbs. Cleansing minerality. Lovely aperitif, or pair with shellfish, sushi and salads.
Dewetshof Bon Vallon Chardonnay (South Africa) £14.50: An un-oaked Chardonnay with bags of flavour and character. Creamy with bright notes of passion fruit, lime and guava. Combined with a cleansing mountain stream quality, this is super drinkable. SA's riposte to Chablis.
Tunante de Azabache Riojo (Spain) £9.50: Vibrant, unoaked and supple, this wine shows typical Tempranillo character of red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and plum with notes of liquorice. Finishes soft and rounded.
Chateau Fontblanche Bordeaux AOC (France) £11.95: This is a fabulous little claret, and one that punches well above its weight. The cassis and black fruits are practically jumping out of the glass but there is impressive structure holding it all firmly in check.
Rothschild Pays D'Oc Pinot Noir (France) £12.50: Cracking Pinot from the steep hills near Limoux. Strawberry, raspberry and a touch of sour cherry all mingled with a delicate note of spice. Light and fresh, but impressively balanced with plenty fruit.
