Burgozone Cote du Danube Rouge

6 in stock

Aged for 6 months in Bulgarian oak, the Merlot and Syrah provide black fruits, spices and a touch of chocolate. A splash of the over-ripe indegenous grape, Gamza, rounds this out with rich raspberry compote.

This well regarded Bulgarian estate was founded in 2002 and is located at the same latitude as Tuscany, growing on slopes above 180 meters. TThe vineyard enjoys a moderate continental climate blessed with hot days and cool nights as well as benefitting from the qualities of being in such close proximity to the Danube River.

All the wines are carefully made from handpicked grapes and are bottled on site at the estate. Careful adherence to canopy management practices and green harvesting techniques results in a regulated yield ranging between 20 hl/ha and 45 hl/ha. The estate practices sustainable winegrowing.
