Chateau Beaumont

13 in stock

Mid crimson with a pale rim. Toasty, fresh nose with ripe fruits. A fresh, racy palate with a structured, savoury finish. A proper claret from a reliable Cru Bourgeois producer.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. 30–35% new oak for 12 months.

The lands which Chateau Beaumont occupies today, on the Left Bank between Margaux and St Julien, were moorlands and heath until the 18th Century. The vineyard, planted in 1824, was gradually extended until reaching the 114 hectares it numbers today. The chateau was built in 1854 and the quality of its wines progressively improved; nowadays, Chateau Beaumont sits at the pinnacle of Crus Bourgeois quality.
