A blend of traditional southern French varietals which combine beautifully in a rich, full-bodied and characterful blend, heady with the scent of garrigue.
Unpretentious, fruit-driven, Gallic in looks - hinting towards la Belle Époque and Gallicin taste, Chevanceau represents the very essence of French winemaking. Humble in origin, but certainly not modest in taste. A perfect aperitif in any decent brasserie -they are both simple, but with just enough body and structure to stand up to a hearty plate of ragout.
The fruit is sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Pays d’Oc. The Pays d’Oc area has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters, with the majority of rainfall occurring during the spring and autumn. Dry, continental winds from the north west bring cooling influences to the vineyards, which help to reduce disease pressure. This wind is interspersed with warm winds from the south, which bring moisture to the vines. Each vineyard site has its own terroir characteristics which add subtle complexity to the resulting wine.
Each grape variety was fermented separately in temperature controlled vats,maintaining the purity of fruit.
