Another win from one of our favourite producers. This charming blend of Grenache and Syrah is medium bodied with fresh red berry fruit and a nice hint of warm spice. Easy drinking and excellent value.
The Pugibet family has been growing grapes in the Languedoc since the 1870s, and courtesy of a judicious marriage received, as a dowry (!), the first vineyard just outside Beziers which enabled the establishment of Domaine La Colombette. Four generations later, and the much-expanded property is still owned and run by the family. A restless family, expansion and innovation have gone hand-in-hand. Whilst only some of their vineyards are certified organic, the entire estate is organically farmed and would be certified but for local vigneron politics. A fabulous producer, Domaine La Colombette is an Appellation Nation stalwart, from the light, refreshing and marvellously drinkable Grenache Rosé, to the rich, complex Chardonnay Demi-Muid that gives much of Burgundy a run for it's money.
