Complex on the nose, stone fruit is underpinned by toast, vanilla and lemon aromas. Beautiful weight and crispness on the palate, ripe with creamy oak, vanilla and spices alongside tropical, peachy fruits.
Denis Carré first fell in love with wine while working harvest in Burgundy as a teenager. In 1975, Denis rented a small parcel of vines and produced his first three barrels of wine, which eventually led to the creation of his small namesake winery in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. Fruit for ‘Les Vireux’ comes from a 0.26 hectare plot of 40-year old vines in Auxey-Duresses, located just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the famed lieu-dit of Les Vireuils (Meursault).
