An under-rated blend from an under-rated area, but this is a lovely, versatile drink. Tropical fruits and citrus, all held together with a cleansing, refreshing finish. And the low ABV makes it a versatile wine for all occassions.
80% Colombard , 10% Gros Manseng, 5% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Ugni Blan
The grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press. Each varietal is fermented separately in stainless-steel tanks and kept on their lees for a few months prior to the blending which is done right before bottling.
Domaine de Saint-Lannes, located in the centre of Gascony, has been owned by the Duffour family for several generations. Michel Duffour took over the estate in 1971 and his approach is very much based on quality rather than quantity. By reducing yields and working meticulously in the winery he has made this estate one of the best and most consistent in the area. Today, Michel's son Nicolas has fully taken over the estate.
