Super Sancerre from a small 0.88ha plot with pre-phylloxera vines. Crisp and flinty with zesty acidity. Surprisingly weighty on the palate with great length. Stunningly good Sancerre.
Emile Balland founded his own domaine at a young age, acquiring parcels of land in Côteaux du Giennois and Sancerre whilst still finishing his Oenology studies. The domaine currently stands at 6.5 hectares with only one in Sancerre. The ‘Croq’Caillotte’ Sancerre comes from the steep, south facing slopes of the Amigny area and is named for the limestone pebbles which are only found in the greatest vineyards of the region.
