Made in a modern style to allow for early drinking, this Pinot Noir has a lovely attack of pure berry and red cherry fruit with fresh acidity, a hint of sweet spice and some earthy notes. Terrific value Premier Cru Burgundy.
A blend of 2 parcels from Sazenay and Clos l'Eveque, both located in the heart of Mercurey. Limestone and clay soils, with the harvest entirely by hand. 10-15 maceration on the skin before maturation in barrel (30% new) for 12 months.
Gaëlle and Jérôme began their joint venture in 2005 by renting a parcel of vines in the commune of Bouzeron. It wasn’t until 2007 that the duo began to make and bottle their own wine. The Domaine has gone from strength to strength and is now made up of over 6 hectares of vines situated in Mercurey, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. The land is cared for and farmed sustainably and Gaëlle and Jérôme continue to produce wines that emphasise fruit above all, with oak taking a supportive role. A brilliant small producer making excellent Burgundies, and as we buy direct we can maintain prices that are approachable too!
