Kendall-Jackson Winery was founded in 1982 by the late Jess Jackson and his wife Barbara Banke. The grapes for this wine are sourced from the cool coastal climates in Mendocino and Sonoma. Mendocino lends Jammy raspberry flavours while Sonoma adds the cassis element. 8 months ageing in oak adds complexity and softness to the Zinfandel that is often considered the signature red grape of California.
• Dynamic raspberry and spice flavors from grapes grown in Mendocino County, luscious jam and strawberry flavors from Sonoma County fruit• Grapes are harvested from rocky, volcanic soils that force the vines to fight for nutrients and water • Vineyards are mostly older, if not historic, and dry farmed with well established root systems and low yields
