Provence does not have a lock on pale, dry and refreshing rosé. This Chairetto, a vibrant, pale rose blend from the shores of Lake Garda has juicy strawberry and cranberry, lifted with a lovely citrus note.

The Groppello, Barbera, Marzemino, Sangiovese grapes are hand-picked. Fermentation in stainless steel, in contact with the skins, for around 12 hours.

Chiaretto (meaning "pale" in Italian) is the name used for rosé wines produced near the shores of Lake Garda, where the wine regions of Veneto and Lombardy meet. Elsewhere in Italy, rosé is known as rosato. While it’s easy to imagine that Chiaretto is a new style of wine, created by envious Italian producers to rival Provence rosé, this is not the case. Legend has it that Chiaretto was first produced by Pompeo Molmenti, a Lake Garda-based attorney and writer, in 1896, and it was formally recognised as its own DOC in 1968.

The Selva Capuzza estate is located 6 km south of Lake Garda and it sits in the heart of the two main DOC areas of Garda Classico and Lugana. The 50 hectare farm is owned and managed by the Formentini family.
